Wake Cafe

Today I had lunch at Wake Cafe with my grandson and cousin. My cousin bought my lunch for my birthday, I gave my grandson my debit card to b order his. When they brought my grandsons food, they brought an extra fry, none of us ordered extra fries but he left them anyway. The food was great. As we were finishing the Manager stopped by and asked about the unordered fries, she said we had been charged for them so she woukd refund the money. She brought cash for the fries. I am impressed by the honesty and wonderful customer service.

All the food is fresh cooked to order so expect longer than average wait times. The food is very good quality and tastes great! They also have lots of soft serve ice cream blends and Sundaes. Their frozen lemonade is to die for.

The food is fantastic. It was fresh, hot, and tasty. The reason for the lower rating is that it's hit or miss when this place will be open. They don't stick to their posted hours. They're constantly facing staffing issues or other problems. So, it's quite disappointing how many times I've gone there when they've advertised being open and they weren't. I'm not sure how to address this, but that's why I gave a lower rating.

Admittedly, I am from out of town and was looking for something a little different. By the name Cafe I thought maybe I would find some thing like a home cooked meal from Grandma. While this place was more like a bougie Burger king, it was actually good. I had a burger cooked to Perfection on a roll that is much better than most. The fries were good and the milkshake was delicious. The service was on point.

Just found this place and it’s great! The best chocolate milkshake I’ve ever had! Delicious burger and turkey sandwich, waffle fries are on point! I’ll be back to try other things on the menu!

First visit to this establishment since it was a Dairy Queen. Let me just say, this place is neat. It serves a lot of food similar to DQ but at a higher quality (and steeper price). This place is spic and span and so beautifully decorated. The food was delicious, hot and fresh. Service was above average. I will certainly come back. Highly recommend!

Wake Cafe has the best fast food at Smith Mountain Lake! The prices are the same as you would pay at any mainstream fast-food restaurant chain, but the food is SO much better. The Grilled Chicken Avocado Ranch Sandwich is excellent, and the onion rings were some of the best I have ever had. The onion rings were piping hot, and very big, with the perfect ratio of onion and batter. The Greek Salad is another great choice, with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The service here is always great, and the atmosphere inside the restaurant is very pleasant, clean, and well-decorated. The wait for your order is a bit longer than mainstream chains, but the food is definitely worth it. I can not praise Wake Cafe enough. Make sure to stop in during your next visit to the lake.
